A gift for the Gledhills...

...as many of you know i've been following a blog about a baby named Gracie for about a year now. She is a little angel, and if you've watched her blog too, you've fallen in love with this little one. www.thegledhillfamily.blogspot.com
Last week she passed away. The news came that there would be no other option for her, except a tiny chance that she could become a candidate for a heart transplant...then the news that she actually WAS a candidate for a heart...so we prayed for a heart and 3 days later one was available to her. She had the transplant and her sweet little body rejected it. There was nothing more that the Gledhills or the doctors could do, so they let that little angel slip passed the veil into the arms of her Father in Heaven. I believe that He will hold her and take care of her until she meets again with her parents.
This blog has meant a lot to me. I hug my children for a lot longer, and a lot tighter. I look at all 'the little things' that matter more often now. I laugh with them, I cry with them, and most of all...I am closer to them. I love my family!
I didn't know this, but the Gledhills actually live quite a distance away from Primary Children's hospital. Michele drove there everyday, and guess what? She never mentioned that, or complained ONCE about the drive to and from. She's said before that she 'eats, breathes and sleeps Gracie..' Everything was about that little girl to her.
Gracie is no longer here, and so it's time to move on. In helping them and showing our love for them, my good friend http://www.mbox-of-chocolates.blogspot.com/ Monica suggested that maybe instead of flowers, we should get this sweet family some movie and dinner passes so that they can spend some time together as a family and not feel guilty about spending the money.
I know I come from meagerness...LOL...but I am going to do this. If anyone wants to help, let me know. I've already had about 5 people say that they wanted to donate, but could definately use more help. If you wanna give even a dollar, that would be fantastic.
Just leave a comment and I will get to you thru email.
We will be sending the package next week when all the flowers are gone, family has returned home, and life starts to settle down for them.
I have sure enjoyed reading this blog, and am thankful for it.
Thank you in advance to everyone, and thanks to those who have already donated! We will put all the names on the card of people who have donated. Love you all!

Tam's tantrum...and duck duck goose...

Before I start my tantrum...I wanna tell JT thank you for the intense game of duck duck goose that was played tonight after dinner. You are my sunshine, kiddo. It was really good to be with my kids after a long week at work. Thanks Steven for getting us a pizza and hanging out with us!

Ok so...I usually don't like to blog politics, but this one is really getting to me...
If someone can make more sense of this, please let me know how. Here is goes...
It's a VERY good possibility that I HAVE a drug dealer across the street. People are ALWAYS coming and going. When they pull up, they knock on the door...then state their name...go in for about 5 min...and leave. Sometimes they get dropped off , sometimes their 'ride' parks around the corner, and sometimes they park right outside my window. Last summer the 'guy' that lives there 'forgot' to put his park break on his truck and it went rolling down the street...
I run across the street after his truck smashed into a tree and knocked on the door. Heres how the conversation went...
Me: knocking Hello!!! Is anyone in there?
Drug man: Who is it?
Me: It's your neighbor...
Drug man: Go away!
Me: ok dude...but your truck just ran into a tree...
Drug man: opens the door looking very glassy and is sitting next to a plastic tote with various needles and paraphanalia on it...and says...oh man...
The police were called, and still...nothing.
BUT WAIT! There is this FABULOUS thing called the 'tip a cop line' right? You can call and leave an anonymous tip, or you can be super vocal about who you are and what EXACTLY is going on. I have called (no kidding) at least 15 times. I think my neighbors have called several times, too. At first I was like..."Yeah it's A POSSIBILITY that there's drug use going on across the street..." And then there's been the last 2 times..."So YEAH...um is anyone gonna do ANYTHING about this problem?" Everytime they just say "yeah ok...we'll investigate." And does anything EVER get done? Nope.
But get this...I have a good friend who went to the RECYCLE center to RECYCLE her recycleables after Christmas. Apparantly the dumpster was full and some of the garbage fell out. The city TOOK THE TIME to dig through the garbage and find my friend's address and sent her a letter telling her that she was going to be charged a boatload of money if they EVER find her RECYCLEABLES on the ground again. I understand that we can't litter. I understand that crap happends and we really can't have garbage on our streets...but aren't drugs considered garbage too? Should I HAVE to go out and scour the lawn for drug needles and worry about my kids finding 'dime bags' outside? WHY don't the 'tip a cop' people care that my kids and innocent people are around this garbage? Have they sent my neighbors a nasty letter telling them to stop 'putting garbage' on our streets or else? Or are they SERIOUSLY spending their TIME and our MONEY to find an address at a recycle station?
ALL I CAN SAY IS GRRR...
ok.
So.
I am going to take a deep breath now and go scour the lawn while I work really hard to get us out of here!

Out of the mouthes of babes...

...I thought I would write down some of the funny things my kids have said recently. You might not find them funny, but I do.

I don't know if many of you let your kids watch supernanny, but one night it was on and we were waiting up for Steven to get home, so they were watching it with me. At the end of the show, the previews for next week started rolling. It showed supernanny crouched down and looking eye to eye with a little boy...the boy screamed and kicked supernanny. To which this conversation took place...

JL: Do you know what I would do if I were the supernanny?

ME: um, no.

JL: I'd tie him up!

ME: ::laughing:: um ok...that's like illegal JL, you cant tie your kids up...

JL: Well...then i'd at least tie up his legs so he couldn't kick me.

ME: Maybe she could just ductape him to the wall...::laughing::

JS is obsessed with infomercials. His new favorite TV channel is qubo. Instead of commercials, they have infomercials. So here's a few things he's said and done...

First of all...he talked Steven into buying these STUPID carpet skates. Fun slides are what they are called. They are the lamest things ever, but Steve isn't a 'say no' kind of Dad. GRR..
So they come to our house one morning UPS . JS is eladed! He is so happy, it's like Christmas morning. I'm putting together the skates when he starts talking in his 'infomercial' voice...
JS: NOWHERE to run? NOWHERE to ride? Well...now YOU DO with FUNSLIDES!

I put the skates together and he's putting them on...
JS: ONE SIZE FITS ALL SHOES! Funslides are for brothers and sisters, Mom's and Misters...even your dog can funslide! Well...maybe not!
I.Wanted.to.die. Sooo funny.

One day, i'm hanging up clothes in the closet, and JS says to me...
JS: Mom..um you need wonderhanger.

Me: Wonderhanger?

JS: Yeah...wonderhanger is 5 hangers in one, and if you buy it today, you get a free closet light.

Me: ::laughing:: ok JS...thanks.

The best one I think is...
JS: Mom! Mom! Mom! Do you have financial problems?

ME: uh not really, why?

JS: because there's this place where they take care of money, and if you call today, its' FREE.

ME: oh ok JS...thanks for the tip

JS: Seriously, Mom. Call. Right. Now. Did you hear me? It's FREE...

...FASTING...

Tomorrow I will be fasting for Janie's fast recovery and Gracie.
Apparantly Gracie isn't a candidate for a new heart or a berlin heart. I will be fasting for comfort for the family, and for the doctors. Please if you get a chance, fast with me and PRAY.
After waiting in the waiting room for a mere 2 hours yesterday, I cannot imagine what Michele and Tom are going through. I love my little girl so much, and cannot even fathom how much they must be grieving. Please pray.

BEFORE and AFTER...

...Thanks Aunt Tiffany for taking pictures of JL. Just thought I would post some pics for out of town family that can't come see JL right away.
Thanks again to Tiff for watching the boys while JL was in surgery, and to B and K for watching them tonight! You are all wonderful!
Also thanks to Grandma and Grandpa Rogers for coming over the other night to give JL a book about her surgery and a cake that said, "GOOD BYE TONSILS!" That was really nice.
Last night my Mom and Dad came and Dad helped Steven give JL a blessing and Mom bought JL new jammas to wear for a while. Thanks Mom and Dad!
JL is doing well. Surgery went just as planned and is now home and resting while trying not to be sick at her stomach. Sweet little thing. We love you JL!

havin a little surgery...

...So tomorrow morning JL is going in for a little surgery. The tubes she had put in her ears a few years ago have fallen out (like they're supposed to) but they are just sitting on her eardrums, so the Dr is going to take those out (obviously) and put new tubes in. She is also having a little sleep apnia so they are going to take out some tissue and cartilage from her nose and remove her tonsils at the same time. OUCH!
We will be enjoying ice cream, popcicles, and lots of liquids for a bit. Hopefully she recovers well...she's kind of a wimp (like her Mom) when it comes to pain, so we'll see how it goes.
Love you, Miss JL...you are my best friend.

Oh! And if everyone will PLEASE remember to keep Miss Gracie in your prayers...she is in need of another heart...the angel heart that she had transplanted isn't working. Please please please pray for this angel.

THANKS!
